Snowsport England
Snowsport England (SSE) is the governing body for English snow
sports. Its main website relating to Nordic skiing is at:
www.snowsportengland.org.uk
In Scotland the governing body is
Snowsport Scotland. Unfortunately it is not able to devote
significant resources to Nordic skiing. The same is true of
Snowsport Wales.
XC equipment suppliers
In a posting on our eCommunity we listed the main UK suppliers of ski
equipment. You can find it at
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/xcuk/message/25.
The main ones
are:
EUROSKI:

BRAEMAR MOUNTAIN SPORTS:

Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre
Between Aberdeen
and Inverness, Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre is the UK's premier
centre for teaching nordic skiing. Their qualified instructors offer day
courses in classic skiing for beginners and improvers, weekend classic
courses and day courses for those wanting to learn to skate. Courses are
held on snow, matting and (with rollerskis) on tarmac.
For more details go to

Cross-country ski clubs
There are clubs in many parts of the UK. Most try
to cater for all levels of ability, and their programme often includes
country walks and social evenings as well as skiing (and roller-skiing
events). For a list of the main clubs visit our eCommunity at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xcuk
and see the posting of 23 April 2006.
