basics (Kandersteg)
This course is for those who already have at least a
week`s experience of cross-country skiing but feel that they have not
yet mastered the basic skills. It is for people who still feel a
little wobbly on their skis, and who find a moderately fast descent a
scary prospect rather than an exciting one.
The course is based at Kandersteg. The teaching programme
will place a lot of emphasis on half and full snowploughs and some
instruction will take place on the hotel`s nursery piste. But we will
also cover the entire range of basic techniques.
Overall the holiday grade will
be about Level 2.
Our package includes a loipe pass, and also a Swiss Card
which covers your journeys between any Swiss arrival airport and
Kandersteg and gives half-price travel on most local transport.
(You should allow about CHF60 for local transport.)
Travel details - important!
We operate this course on a land-only basis (without flights).
There are plenty of mainstream, no-frills and charter flights into Zurich, Basel
and Geneva and we leave it to you to find the best deal for yourself. As
rail travel in Switzerland is famously well-organised, getting to Kandersteg is no problem.
