Snowshoeing at Høvringen
Our snowshoe objectives will include Karihaugen (1277m)
and Vardhøe (1116m), the two peaks that form the ends of the "hoof-ring"
or horseshoe that gives Høvringen its name. We may also tackle
Formokampen (1428m), a distinctive pyramid to the southeast of the
village and Steinbuhøe (1526m), a rounded summit to the northeast.
To help gain height we may use our hotelier’s caterpillar-tracked
snow-cat at the start of some days. There will be a small charge for
this, about NOK 50 per journey, which is payable locally.
