Hut-to-hut touring

We are proud to be agents for Den Norske Turistforening (the Norwegian Mountain Touring Association). Founded in 1868, DNT has almost 200,000 members - not bad in a country whose population is less than 5 million.

DNT has a wonderful network of mountain huts in spectacularly wild locations. The largest have over 100 beds, the smallest just 10. Some are staffed, have electricity and saunas, and serve hot meals. Many are unstaffed, but have stocks of firewood and food. Normally you sleep in rooms with 4 beds or more, usually but not always on a single-sex basis. In unstaffed huts you help with cooking, fetching water and general housekeeping.

We operate one tour in the Rondane mountains, and we have an introduction to touring based mainly at Dalseter but with one night in a hut.
