Rondane Group Tour
Our Rondane tour, for fit and competent skiers, combines
impressive mountain scenery with relatively comfortable accommodation.
Most of the huts are staffed and provide very good meals. Some have hot
showers (pay locally). And in most places we use small bunkrooms rather
than large dormitories.
We offer the tour at two levels. Both start and finish
with a night in a hotel in Mysuseter. Here you can leave un-needed kit -
at your own risk - while on tour.
On Day 2 the Touring A groups ski north to the large hut
at Rondvassbu, right in the middle of the national park. They have two
nights there before heading east to Bjørnhollia hut. Two nights here
allow some fine local skiing, then the route goes back through
Rondvassbu (one night) to Mysuseter.
On Day 2 the Touring B group skis to the unstaffed hut
at Eldåbu and spends one night here before going north to Bjørnhollia
hut. Three nights here give time to climb some of the local hills,
before skiing out through Rondvassbu (one night) to Mysuseter.
You must have your own metal-edged skis and climbing skins. Local
hire is not possible. We provide DNT membership (deduct £40 if you are
already a member).
Note for XC315/1 and XC315/2: Bjørnhollia
hut will be open on an unstaffed basis during your visit.
