The long-distance Troll Loipe stretches from Hovringen to Sjusjoen. Our tour concentrates on the northernmost 50 kilometres, from Hovringen to Eldabu. It is a satisfying and scenic route, but because the overall distance is not too demanding we have time for several interesting detours along the way.

We start with three nights in Hovringen, to acclimatise. Then we set off along the Troll Loipe on a 20km stage that skirts the flanks of the Rondane mountains before descending to Mysuseter. Here we spend two nights: if the weather is good we can ski up to Rondvassbu. On Day 6 we set off for Rondablikk. The distance is just 15km so we can take it easy, conserving our strength for the final stage, when we attempt the 35km out-and-back route to Eldabu.

Accommodation is in twin and single rooms at Oigardseter Fjellstue in Hovringen, at Rondane Spa Hoyfjellshotell in Mysuseter and at Rondablikk Hoyfjellshotell. At Oigardseter and Rondane Spa all rooms have shower and wc, but at Rondablikk some rooms may have washbasin only, and these will share shower and wc.

Light touring skis are suitable for this holiday and ski hire is included in the package price. We also include baggage transfer between the hotels, so that you need to ski only with a day-sack.
