Troll Ski Marathon
The organisers claim this is the world’s longest one-day ski race - and
at 95km we expect they are right. Run in classic style on the Troll
Loipe, it is actually several very worthwhile events in one, all finishing
at Sjusjøen. The 95km race starts at Venabu, and follows a spectacular
course over open fells then along the tree-line. A 70km version starts in
Oksendalen and a 45km one at Goppollen. For a 20km challenge you can start
at Oyer. For any of the distances you need good technique, though during the
week our instructor will offer coaching tips. For the longer
distances you also need very good stamina! You must choose the distance at the time of booking.
Prices include race entry, travel to
your start-point on race day (29 March) and the hire of recreational XC
skis. (For the longer distances we recommend you bring your own specialised
racing skis and claim our own-equipment reduction.)
This course is based at Sjusjøen Høyfjellshotell. See where we stay >> for details on accommodation.
