Winter walking
groups in Zernez
On our winter walking holidays in Zernez our leader will
set a relaxed pace. On most days we will be out walking for about five
hours. Maximum daily ascent will be about 400 metres, and on some days
only about 200 metres.
Close to Zernez, some of our walking routes will be just outside the
Swiss National Park and here we will walk in quiet forests or alongside
the River Inn. On other routes spectacular mountain scenery will be the
order of the day: in the glaciated side valleys of the Upper Engadine or
perhaps across at Klosters.
The principality of Livigno is within our reach if we use hired
transport. And if we take the local postbus from Zernez we can walk near
the Ofenpass (2149m) and descend into the picturesque Mustair valley.
On most days we will use local trains or postbuses. The holiday package
includes a Swiss Card, which brings half-price reductions on these
services. (You should allow about CHF60 for local transport.)
Travel details - important
We operate this holiday on a land-only basis (without flights).
There are plenty of mainstream, no-frills and charter flights into Zurich, Basel
and Geneva and we leave it to you to find the best deal for yourself. As
rail travel in Switzerland is famously well-organised, getting to your holiday
village is no problem.
Our package includes a Swiss Card. Valid for one week, it covers your journeys
between any Swiss arrival airport and Zernez.
We ask you not to commit yourself to any flights until you have confirmed with
us that your holiday week is definitely operating.
