Zernez
 |
|
Zernez is a historic settlement at the junction of the Engadine valley
and the Fuorn valley which leads over the high Ofenpass to Italy and
Austria. It is in the canton of Graubunden, away in the east of
Switzerland.
The village lies at 1470m - and yet it is in the Lower
Engadine valley. In the nearby Upper Engadine (pictured) most villages are at about
1700m, and in places the ski tracks climb to almost 2000m. Snow
reliability is therefore very good.
